Birmingham Businessman Joins Impressive Line-Up of Speakers

Local businessman Dr Jason Wouhra OBE took to the stage to address the wholesale industry alongside ex-CEO of Sainsbury’s, Justin King

Each year, the Federation of Wholesale Distributors (FWD), the trade body for the food and drink wholesale industry, hosts a business lunch where it invites its members, which include leading food and drink brands and UK wholesalers, to attend a morning of sector-specific presentations followed by a networking lunch.

A small number of wholesalers are invited by FWD to speak at the event, held at the Park Plaza Hotel, Westminster and this year, Birmingham-based wholesaler Dr Jason Wouhra OBE, was asked to address attendees and share his thoughts on the power of successful partnerships in the sector.

The CEO of Lioncroft Wholesale spoke about his experience of owning the family-run wholesale business and shared his plans for expansion in the coming years, as well as challenging brands to work with the sector with ‘an entrepreneurial mindset’. He was applauded for his contribution with FWD CEO James Bielby praising his honesty, transparency and invaluable insight.

Attendees also heard from Peter Foster, Public Policy Editor at The Financial Times and Justin King, ex-CEO Sainsbury’s, as well as presentations on FWD activities, Generative AI and key sector trends.
